Revision of Preparation of a joint publication by the Belgian network for DNA barcoding from Mon, 2013-04-08 10:59

Posters and lectures presented at the Third European Conference for the Barcode of Life (ECBOL3) organized in Brussels in 2012, made it obvious that much is happening with regard to DNA barcoding in Europe and globally. The results of a large number of well prepared and executed studies were presented at the conference including many aspects of DNA barcoding with links to taxonomy, phylogenetics, phylogeography, biosecurity, conservation genetics and so on. In addition, a range of new analytical methods and approaches was presented, putting DNA barcoding into a very dynamic context. We, the organizers of this conference, thought that some of these exciting ideas, results and conclusions should be made available to a wider public. We therefore suggested to publish original works (both practical, methodological, conceptual, experimental or theoretical), reviews, commentaries, and opinion papers from any relevant field of DNA barcoding.

This joint publication is an initiative of the FWO research community “Belgian Network for DNA barcoding” (BeBoL). All participants of the ECBOL3 conference and all members of the BeBoL network are welcome to contribute.
