News: BeBoL has a new member: BopCo (Barcoding of Organisms and tissues of Policy Concern). BopCo is an initiative funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) and is jointly run by the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences (RBINS) and the Royal Museum for Central Africa (RMCA). The BopCo project aims at providing a barcoding facility to identify biological samples of policy concern using both morphological and molecular techniques. BopCo will also produce DNA barcodes of relevant taxa of policy concern as well as maintain the reference collections of the barcoded organisms.

Full-time 2 year position as scientific researcher at RBINS in the framework of the FWO project  'Metagenetic upgrading of biodiversity research on free-living marine nematodes in Vietnam’ . Start date is foreseen for beginning of September 2016. More info here.

Deadline for registration: 4 April 2016.

Vacancy for a postdoctoral assistant. It concerns an appointment for three years (can be renewed for another three years) at the Terrestrial Ecology Unit, Ghent University, Dept. Biology. Deadline for the application is April 22nd. Tasks include some teaching, mentoring of Phd and Msc students and developing high level research on eco-evolutionary dynamics in a spatial context.
